Financial Aid
The ENDY program awards a number of fellowships and assistantships each year to qualified applicants. In addition, students are supported with funds from external fellowships and research assistantships tied to individual faculty members' research programs.
Please note: to be eligible for consideration for the Graduate School fellowships (DAF/DDF) you must submit GRE scores.
Students interested in financial assistance should
- complete an Application for Graduate Assistantship from the Graduate School
- forward copies to both the Graduate School and ENDY Program office.
Annual Fellowship and Assistantship opportunities are listed below:
Distinguished Doctoral Fellowship (DDF)
The most prestigious fellowship offered by the University of Arkansas. The DDF carries with it an annual stipend of $22,000 + GA + paid tuition. To qualify, applicants must have:
- graduate GPA of at least 3.8 (4.0 scale)
- GRE verbal + quantitative score = 308 or greater and GRE analytical writing score = 4.5 or greater.
Fellowship is renewable for up to 4 years, contingent on adequate progress toward the degree. Distinguished Doctoral Fellowships
Doctoral Academy Fellowship (DAF)
The DAF carries with it an annual stipend of $12,000 + GA + paid tuition. To qualify, applicants must have
- graduate GPA of at least 3.65 (4.0 scale)
- GRE verbal + quantitative score = 302 or greater and GRE analytical writing score = 4.0 or greater.
Fellowship is renewable for up to 4 years, contingent on adequate progress toward the degree. Distinguished Academy Fellowships
Graduate Assistantship (GA)
Standard ENDY GAs provide:
- $15,914 year stipend minimum
- paid tuition for the 12-month academic year
- 66% of health care covered
Students receiving a GA are expected to assist with teaching of introductory courses in various academic departments at the university. The assistantship is renewable for up to 3 years, contingent on adequate progress toward the degree.
Middle East Studies Program (MEST)
Occasionally, qualified ENDY applicants may earn financial support from the Middle East Studies Program (MEST).
